HVLP Gun

High Volume, Low Pressure (HVLP) gun sprayer has higher volume of air at pressures less than 10 psi compared to the usual pressure gun that requires 40 to 60 psi to perform the same task. The advantages of spraying at a lower force are the reduced overspray, uses less paint, and fine finish.

Advantages
Reduced Overspray
This is probably the most appreciated feature from a HVLP gun sprayer because the conventional paint sprayer has excessive overspray that drifts around the work area and cause the filter mask to work extra.

Uses Less Paint
Seeing as the overspray is severely reduced, fewer materials are wasted.

Superb Finish
Because the HVLP gun sprayer provides control over the amount of material and air used with excellent accuracy, it can provide a superb smooth factory like finish.

Types
Two types of HVLP gun sprayers are turbine and compressor powered. The turbine system employs sequence of blades to generate a large volume of air at low pressure. This type of HVLP gun is compact, lightweight, and portable. The compressor system uses a piston air compressor to supply the needed volume of air. The sprayer is the most important part of the system.

Manufactures
The most common manufacture is Fuji. This company was also one of the originals to begin manufacturing HVLP turbine gun sprayers in 1986. Fuji is known for its quality HVLP gun sprayers. There have been many manufactures that come and go. Some of these include:
• Sicmo: it was the original maker of a proper spray gun in 1971.
• Sprayfine
• Titan
• Capspray
• Croix

History
In 1971, Sicmo developed the original HVLP gun sprayer by its creator Mr. Fransteiner. This sprayer is still the most air proficient spray gun around. It uses a unique air-entraining scheme that actually enhances the volume of the air passing through the gun. Until late 1980s, all other HVLP guns replicated these early guns in every feature. Also in the 1981 Apollo sprayers, under John Darroch, started the first HVLP equipment that was manufacture in North America In 1986, Fuji HVLP gun sprayer started their journey in manufacturing turbine systems.
